Boys Gymnastic Program

Boys program includes 6 events: Floor, Pommel Horse, Rings, Vault, Parallel Bars, Horizontal Bar.

Boys Beginners

This class is for 5 years and older boys who are here to learn the wonderful sport of gymnastics.
Students will learn the basic skills on the entry level of the USA Gymnastics program.

Floor

  • Front roll
  • Back roll
  • Candle stick
  • Handstand
  • Headstand
  • Cartwheel
  • Handstand & front roll

Pommel Horse

  • Straddle support swings
  • Cut left legs forward/backward
  • Cut right legs forward/backward
  • Half circle on mushroom

Rings

  • Swings forward/backward
  • Raise legs to hanging "L" (2 sec hold)
  • From straight arm hang, pull up to
    flexed arm hang (2 sec hold)

Parallel Bars

  • Swing forward/backward
  • Straddle travel
  • Tuck position hold
  • "L" hold dips (3 times)

Horizontal Bar

  • Swing forward/backward
  • Cast to support
  • Cast to back hip circle
  • Pullover to support, muscle up


Boys Intermediate

This class is for boys who have mastered all skills in beginner class and have been evaluated by the coach.

Floor

  • Front roll
  • Back roll
  • Handstand
  • Handstand & front roll
  • Back extension roll
  • Cartwheel
  • Round off
  • Front/back flip

Pommel Horse

  • Straddle support swings (10 times)
  • Cut left leg forward/backward (3 times)
  • Cut right leg forward/backward (3 times)
  • Full circle on mushroom

Rings

  • Swings forward/backward
  • Raise legs to hanging "L" (2 sec hold)
  • From straight arm hang, pull up to
    flexed arm hang 2 times (2 sec hold)

Vault

  • Fast running
  • Race
  • Straight jump to mat

Parallel Bars

  • Swing forward/backward
  • Straddle travel
  • straight arms support walking across the bars
  • Dips (5 times) "L" hold

Horizontal Bar

  • Swing forward/backward
  • Cast to support
  • Cast to back hip circle
  • Pullover to support, muscle up (5 times)

Girls Beginner

This class is for girls 5 years or older who are here to learn the wonderful sport of gymnastics. Students will learn basic skills on the entry level of the USA Gymnastics program.

Stretching

  • pike feet together

Floor

Vault

  • straddle jump on top of 24-32" mat
  • front roll on top of 8-24" mat

Bars

  • monkey bar cross

  • hold "L" position tuck and straight

  • simple back hip circle (without cast)

Balance Beam

  • Walking forward/backward/sideways

Girls Intermediate

Vault

  • progresses on running form & jump techniques
  • straight jump on 12" mat
  • progresses on squat & straddle jump on top of 24-32" mat
  • progresses front roll on top of 8-24" mat (on tumble track)
  • punch two handstand onto 12" mat (on tumble track)

Bars

  • Pike Ups
  • Progresses on chin ups
  • Progresses on cast
  • Progresses on back hip pullover
  • Progresses back hip circle
  • Straddle on, swing to dismount

Beam

  • Progresses in walking forward/backward/sideways (tip toes)
  • Progresses kick forward
  • Progresses on straight jumps
  • Coupé walks
  • Arabesque
  • Jump to front support mount
  • V-Sit in a tuck stand


Girls Advanced

This class is for the girls that have mastered all skills in intermediate class and have been evaluated by the coach.

Floor

  • Forward roll to straddle stand
  • Backward roll to pike stand
  • Progresses in handstand & headstand (hold 3-5 sec)
  • Handstand forward roll
  • Standing bridge
  • Backbend kick over
  • Progress in cartwheel (cartwheel chassé
  • Progresses in round-off
  • Back handstand with spot
  • Split jump
  • Progresses on pivot turn

Vault

  • race
  • progresses on running form & jump techniques
  • straight jump on 16-24" mat
  • Dive roll from board onto 8-16" mat
  • punch two handstand onto 12" mat to straight lying position on the back (tumble track)

Bars

  • 3-5 Chin Ups
  • 5-10 Pike Ups
  • Progresses on cast (close to horizontal)
  • Back hip pullover
  • Back hip circle
  • Progresses on straddle on, swing to dismount
  • Single leg cut forward & backward

Beam

  • Progresses in walking forward/backward/sideways (tip toes)
  • Kick forward/sideways/backwards
  • Progresses on straight jumps
  • Tuck jump
  • Progress coupé walks on tip toes
  • Progress in arabesque
  • Pivot turn
  • Forward roll (low beam)
  • Handstand on the floor beam
  • Level 2 mount
